Fodor's Review

Editor's Note: This location is reported to be under new ownership and therefore this review may contain inaccuracies.

Do you remember how much fun it used to be going out to eat when you were a kid? (Towering desserts, crayons on the placemats...) Jasper's is that fun place to eat but for adults. Let's start with the beverage list: It's a serious read. There are 18 seasonal cocktails, two cocktails on tap, beer flights, and dozens of wines in customizable sizes of 3, 6, or 14 ounces. The menu is extensive but a highlight is the build-your-own-fries. For mains, there are fish-and-chips, the J Burger with bacon marmalade and blue cheese, and grilled salmon (for the real adult in you screaming for something healthy). Named after a gold-rush era bon vivant, Jasper's is broken into two areas. The front is hipster saloon–style with mod wallpapers, the back, a hotel-vibe dining room (connected to Serrano Hotel). The smoked gouda cheese sauce served with the soft pretzel starter should be jarred and sold. Jasper's also serves food late, because curfews are for kids.
