Sleek, yet comfortable, in a great location across the street from AT&T Park, and with two bars with great vibes, this new addition to the SF hotel scene wins hearts.

Fodor's Expert Review

Across the street from AT&T Park, this environmentally-conscious hotel was constructed in 2017 to cater to tech-wizards, sports fans, and design-minded travelers. Located right on the Muni line, near haute cuisine and brewpubs, this centrally-located property has quickly become the darling of San Francisco's boutique hotel scene.

You Should Know Ballpark traffic and noise might not appeal to those wanting a more relaxed environment.

Spare rooms feature fog-hued innards, punctuated by a turquoise velvet chair straight out of the Jetsons. A small glass-tossed work desk, lights with a dimmer switch and plenty of plugs appeal to techies. Smart TVs perched on the wall over a simple shelf adds floor space. In-room tablets allow guests to order breakfast. Big windows with blackout curtains offer views of the ballpark, peeks of the bay and the southern hills.

You Should Know If street noise is an issue for you, bring earplugs.

Marble floors, Via-brand toiletries, and a glass-walled rainshower create a serene environment. Terrycloth robes with hoods add to the spa vibe.

Enter through a brick alley to find the hotel's friendly staff, complimentary spa water, and a few treats for purchase. The breakfast area, business center, and gym are all within a flight of stairs. The lobby level bar is off the lobby.

A small fitness center features cardio machine and free weights.

Bar Via, located on street level, might feel like an airport lounge, with a backlit bar and trip-hop playing. The food caters to those wanting a quick small bite, with a charcuterie plate, flatbreads and salads populating the menu. The hotel offers a full breakfast menu for guests.

Bar Via features craft cocktails, beer, and a fine wine selection. The rooftop bar, overlooking AT&T Park, makes a fine place for an aperitif or a nightcap.
