Fodor's Expert Review Hotel Kabuki
1625 Post St., San Francisco, California, 94115, USA
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
This beautiful Japantown retreat has serenely contemporary rooms, a lobby area with an outdoor garden, a terrific craft-cocktail bar, and a fun record-album wall decoration that is a nod to the neighborhood's music history. The best rooms are the ones on the Tower building's upper floors, with sweeping views of Japantown, Sutro Tower, and beyond. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, with comfortable beds and walk-in showers, and nicely blend zen elements with modern Japanese art. Celebrated chef Pim Techamuanvivit opened the hotel's restaurant, Nari, in 2019, and it has quickly become an exciting Thai dining destination.
PROS
- spacious rooms
- excellent fitness center
