Fodor's Review

Long lines snake down the block outside this quintessential San Diego dining spot where chef-owner Hanis Cavin serves fast-casual cuisine based on the humble hog. He’s so pork-focused that he sports a hog tattoo on his arm and plays with a pet mini-pig named Carnitas. The “shack’ has a walk-up window where hungry fans order favorites like carnitas tacos and the “Triple Threat,” a large bun stuffed with schnitzel, bacon, and pulled pork. Prefer a different protein? Cavin also makes fried chicken and steak sandwiches. Enjoy your order and a craft beer or wine from the bar under shaded tables on the rustic patio. For a bay view, visit the newest outpost along the Embarcadero.
