Fodor's Expert Review Hog's Breath Inn La Quinta–The Desert Hog

Clint Eastwood watches over this replica of his Hog's Breath restaurant in Carmel, aptly nicknamed the "Desert Hog"; his presence is felt in the larger-than-life photos that fill the walls of the bright dining room. The large selection of American comfort food ranges from Guinness-braised short ribs to sole stuffed with crab. The signature dish is the Dirty Harry dinner: chopped sirloin with capers, garlic mashed potatoes, and red cabbage, served with horseradish mushroom sauce.

The three-course Sunset Dinner ($19.95) is served between 4:30 and 6 except on holidays and holiday weekends.
