Fodor's Expert Review Miramonte Resort & Spa
45000 Indian Wells La., Indian Wells, California 92210, United States See on Map
This resort, a Hilton property, sits just across Highway 111 from the Indian Wells Golf Resort, where guests have privileges and the golf concierge can book tee times. The Italian-style buildings, made of stone and stucco with orangey tile roofs, host an award-winning spa and two restaurants.
Miramonte has packages and amenities geared toward families, including a Recreation Specialist who can plan activities, age-appropriate games, and set up hotel rooms for children.
room
The 215 guest rooms, suites, and villas offer elegant, contemporary decor in sandy desert tones. All rooms have Wi-Fi, a patio or balcony, and the option to use a digital key (via the Hilton Honors app) for room access. Villa Suites include a dining room.
bathroom
Bathrooms features marble countertops on vanities and combination tub/showers. Suites have separate showers and bathtubs.
lobby
Italian influence can be seen throughout the resort, including in the arched lobby where statues are placed throughout. Guests can valet park just outside in a covered portico as part of check in. Many rooms and villas are accessed not via the lobby, but through a lovely walk along a paved sidewalk route through olive and citrus trees.
pool
The resort offers three pools, one for all ages and families, one for adults only, and one for spa guests. The Miramonte Pool and Hideaway Pool (adults only) both offer poolside service and rental cabana packages. The Aqua Well Pool + River Bench is hidden away in the private courtyard of The Well Spa; this pool is open to spa guests or a separate day-pass can be purchased.

spa
In addition to the private pool, The Well Spa offers typical spa services like massages, nail care, body wraps, and waxing. There’s a eucalyptus steam room, indoor our outdoor treatment spaces, and a retail store.
gym
The gym, open 24 hours, has equipment ranging from cardio to weight machines to free weights. Group classes are offered on a varying schedule. Personal training and private yoga can also be arranged. In addition to the fitness center, the resort offers bicycle rental, lawn games, and a bocce court. A 45-minute Wellness Walk is led by spa staff every weekday morning.
dining
Citrus + Palm serves “farm-to-fork” fare for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There’s an express lunch menu for those rushing off for a golf game or private tennis lesson at the nearby Indian Wells Tennis Garden, as well as separate kids’ menus for breakfast and lunch/dinner.
LOCATION
Getting Around
Free, private parking is available and it’s about a 30-minute drive to Palm Springs International Airport. Southern California locals may want to look into using the Tesloop service for travel from Orange County or L.A.
Restaurants
If you’re traveling with a pet, Don Diego’s (6-minute drive) has a dog-friendly patio and decent-sized margaritas. The kids will get a kick out of the singing waiters at Cafe Italia (6-minute drive). The Nest has been serving up steaks and seafood since 1965.
WHY WE LIKE IT
This is an affordable, family-centric resort experience. Guests coming to the valley for the Coachella or Stagecoach music festivals, the Indian Wells Masters tennis tournament, or La Quinta Arts Festival will find an approachable resort experience with a focus on health and wellness offerings.
