Fodor's Expert Review Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa

1600 S. Disneyland Dr., Anaheim, California, 92802, USA Fodor's Choice

The most opulent of Disneyland's three hotels, the Craftsman-style Grand Californian offers views of Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney. They don't push the Disney brand too heavily; some artwork and a plush Mickey Mouse toy are some of the subtle branding you'll find in the Arts-and-Crafts-style wood-panel rooms. Redone in 2018, rooms have wood floors, plenty of outlets for charging devices, and a pretty orange-blossom motif on the headboards. Restaurants include the Napa Rose dining room and Storytellers Cafe, where Disney characters entertain children at breakfast. There are three pools including one just for kids; all have lifeguards. Room-and-ticket packages are available, and guests can enter a park an hour earlier than everyone else (schedule varies between the two parks). The Mandara spa has a couple's suite with Balinese-inspired art and textiles. Book the concierge level that allows access to a comfy private lounge with all-day snacks and small-plates menu items.
