Fodor's Review

The long driveway at homespun Preston, flanked by vineyards and punctuated by the occasional olive tree, winds down to farmhouses encircling a large shady yard. Year-round, organic produce grown in the winery's gardens is sold at a small shop near the tasting room; house-made bread and olive oil are also available. Owners Lou and Susan Preston are committed to organic growing techniques and use only estate-grown grapes in their wines, which include a perky Sauvignon Blanc, Barbera, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Viognier, and Zinfandel. Tours, on Thursday and Friday only, are by appointment. With several outdoor areas set up with tables (there's also a boccie court), Preston is a terrific place for a weekday picnic; weekends, though also good, can be crowded, and there's no boccie.
