Fruit orchards and redwoods surround this California-Mediterranean restaurant built in the style of a French country barn. The agrarian sensibility runs deeper than mere design, however: much of the produce in the stylishly presented dishes comes from 6 acres of on-site organic gardens. The menu changes seasonally, but beef tenderloin, king salmon, and rack of California lamb rubbed with cocoa are among the signature offerings. Summer might bring a cooling gazpacho of Galia melon, winter a bone-warming crispy pork belly topped with a quail egg and served with turnips. The five-course tasting menu, $75 per person for the whole table only, is an excellent option; on Sunday the chefs prepare a three-course prix-fixe dinner for $35 ($60 with wine pairing).
