Beverly Hills is filled with grand hotels that sport opulent lobbies and ostentatious offerings, but often lack a personal touch. Sirtaj eschews the grandiosity by providing its guests with a more one-on-one level of service and refinement. Where it lacks in amenities, this boutique makes up for it with location, service, and comfort.
Room aesthetics are awash in red and orange tones and feature hardwood floors. If you book far enough in advance, you can request one of the four rooms with a balcony. All the accommodations are equipped with Lavazza espresso machines (the real deal!) and in-room tablets that can guide you through the ins and outs of the hotel and the surrounding area.
If you opt for the Deluxe King room, you’ll be sitting on the throne that is the Toto toilet with its multiple, wonderfully excessive functions (washing, warming, etc). All bathrooms come with Noir products, walk in showers, and large mirrors.
The small lobby has a variety of cushioned seating options and a small bar with under-lit orange wood. Because there are only 32 rooms, this isn’t a bustling spot, but certainly a relaxing area to unwind after a long day of shopping.
Upon check in you’ll receive a delightfully sweet mango juice that works wonders on jetlag.
Off the lobby is the Sirtaj’s signature restaurant P.S. Beverly Hills. Here you’ll find a mix of Indian and Italian dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Sirtaj is on a residential street of Beverly Hills, but also walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shopping areas. This might be the safest neighborhood in the area, so feel free to stretch your legs at night.
All of Beverly Hills is within walking distance, but if you want to get to other parts of the city, we would recommend renting a car or flagging an Uber or Lyft--there are many in this area. Just know that parking will run you $30 a night at the hotel.
One block west of the Sirtaj is Beverly Drive that features a number of great restaurants like inventive Chinese favorite ChinChin (5-minute walk) and healthy café Kreation Organic Juicery (5-minute walk). Walking just north of the hotel, you’ll find Wolfgang Puck’s famous Spago (5-minute walk), and celebrity-filled hangout Mastro’s Steakhouse (6-minute walk).
Whiskey fanatics should head up the street to £10, a hidden speakeasy inside the Montage Hotel (ask the concierge to make you a reservation). Honor Bar (2-minute walk) is a more casual bar & grill across the street from the Sirtaj.
WHY WE LIKE IT
Sirtaj is a quaint and stylish boutique in the heart of Beverly Hills but away from the throngs of tourists on Rodeo Drive. You have access to all the treats that 90210 has to offer from restaurants and bars to shopping and attractions all within walking distance. The hotel is small, and with that, lacks in amenities, but also makes up for it with a personalized touch you won’t find at bigger competitors. Quiet, simple, and centralized, this hotel gives guests a nice home away from home.
