Fodor's Expert Review Hotel Figueroa

939 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, California, 90015, USA

After years of renovation, the Hotel Figueroa has finally made its return to the Downtown hospitality scene, and it was well worth the wait. The newly refurbished 12-story hotel was originally built in 1926, and touches of that originality are still seen throughout with original skylights, wood beams, and tiles. The stunning redesign now includes a classic bar that specializes in gin drinks, as well as a mouthwatering Basque-inspired restaurant, Breva. Out back, the original coffin-shape pool is still alive and kicking and flanked now by Moroccan-styled bars serving tropical sips. Rooms are tastefully decorated but still hold on to their historical charm.
