Hotel Amarano Burbank

Why We Like It

This hotel is great for its proximity to the major Hollywood studios for vacationing tourists and entertainment executives alike. While it’s not a hub of social activity, the happy hour scene is excellent and the hotel restaurants are solid. There aren’t a ton of amenities, but the rooms are spacious and homey and the hotel makes up for its shortcomings with excellent, personalized service--they pride themselves on their repeat business.

Burbank is known as the home to major Hollywood Studios like Warner Bros., Universal Studios, NBC Television and Disney. The Hotel Amarano is located within walking distance to most and short drives to all for families to take exclusive tours or entertainment executives to conduct Hollywood business. Aside from studio activities, the hotel gives guests a warm reception, a fun pool and a solid happy hour to keep them busy between business and vacation duties.

If you book your room through the Universal Studios Preferred Hotel site, you can get deals on Universal Studios packages. You can also book these deals directly through the hotel--you might get a free beverage for this too.

LOCATION

Getting Around

Although you’re generally close to restaurants, bars and major Hollywood studios, it’s not exactly walking distance to most things. If you’re planning on spending time in Burbank, you’ll either want to rent a car or use Uber or Lyft to get you around. The good news is that you’re only a short drive to the Universal City/Studio City Train Station where you can catch a ride to Downtown LA, Hollywood and even Santa Monica.

Tip: The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to/from Burbank Airport and Universal Studios.

Restaurants

Famous for its iconic sign and statue, Bob’s Big Boy (7-minute walk) is down the street and has been serving burgers and starring in movies since 1949. Zankou Chicken (5-minute drive) is a local spit-cooked Mediterranean spot that’s too good to be true. Porto’s Bakery (4-minute drive) is guaranteed to have a long line, but it’s worth waiting for the best Cuban sandwiches of your life.

Bars

Check out Simmzy’s Burbank (4-minute drive) for pub food and beer. Now a Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument, Idle Hour is an incredible bar with drink specials and a great happy hour--just look for the building that’s in the shape of a giant beer barrel.
