Where to See Celebrities in L.A.
- Courtside seats at a Lakers game during the playoffs. Best way to see Kobe up close? Be a celebrity, know a celebrity, or be a celebrity's agent. Having an in at one of the big Downtown law firms that often buy season tickets is also a winning strategy. Otherwise, hire a private concierge service and be prepared to pay—a lot. Whatever you do, don't buy tickets off the street.
- Opening night galas. Try for the Walt Disney Concert Hall or preview opening parties at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Celebrities support their fellow artists in Los Angeles and often entry to these fêtes is as easy as paying for the ticket to get in.
- The rooftop bar at the Standard. The place still has enough buzz to attract the occasional celebrity. Booking a room is the surest way to gain access to the rooftop bar and pool. Word of advice: Never name-drop in Los Angeles. People who are truly connected here don't have to.
