Located in eastern Arizona just off Interstate 40, Petrified Forest National Park is set in an area of grasslands, overlooked by mountains in the distance. At nearly an hour from American Indian Nations, nearly two hours from Flagstaff, and three hours from the Grand Canyon, the park is relatively remote and separated from many comforts of travel. Just a half hour away, Holbrook, the nearest town, is the best place to grab a quick bite to eat or take a brief rest.
