Baie-St-Paul

Baie-St-Paul, one of the oldest towns in the province, is popular with craftspeople, artists, and foodies. With its centuries-old mansard-roof houses, the village is on the banks of a winding river, on a wide plain encircled by high hills–-the crater of a large meteor that crashed to earth 350 million years ago. Boutiques and a handful of commercial galleries line the historic narrow streets in the town center; most have original artwork and crafts for sale. In addition, each August more than a dozen artists from across Canada take part in the "Symposium of Modern Art."
