Fodor's Expert Review Boris Bistro
Behind a freestanding facade (the remains of a burned-out historic building) is one of the best alfresco dining areas in Montreal. Like an enchanted forest, the tree-shaded terrace draws crowds to sip glasses of Kir Royal or munch on locally-sourced cheese plates. Market-fresh classics, from duck to fish and lamb, are extensive. There's even a vegan plate on the menu. Minors are not allowed to dine inside the restaurant, although they're welcome on the terrace until 8 pm with an adult. Call ahead to confirm evening schedules which are limited in the spring, fall, and winter.
