North Cape

Mother Nature meets modern technology at PEI’s northwest tip. The Gulf of St. Lawrence and Northumberland Strait converge at North Cape’s reef (the longest rock reef in North America) creating a popular hangout for seals, seabirds, and other forms of marine life. But it’s the wind sweeping over the water that makes this place really stand out. Scores of windmills—some of them 262 feet high—dot the site. Part of the Atlantic Wind Test Site and Wind Farm, they were built to make the "Gentle Island" even greener.
