Fodor's Expert Review Fairholm National Historic Inn and Carriage House

230 Prince St., Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, C1A 4S1, Canada Fodor's Choice

The Fairholm, a designated National Historic Site, is a prime Maritime example of the architectural Picturesque movement. Featuring inlaid-hardwood floors, stunning stained-glass windows, fine antiques, and imported wallpaper, the 1838 property has been restored to perfection. Spacious guest rooms have fireplaces and enviable extras such as soaker tubs or bay windows. The Carriage House houses six additional suites that can sleep up to four people. Each suite has a separate entrance, private deck or patio, and a full kitchen. Another welcome feature is a lovely garden pergola with fire pit. The friendly staff will help you plot excursions to all the nearby restaurants, as well as to shops and attractions.
