Fodor's Expert Review The Sprout
Local artists and craftspeople display their creations on the walls here, but works of vegetarian art also arrive at your table in the form of salads, soups (including the Me-So Hungry Miso Soup), sandwiches (a house favorite being the Bravocado—cheese, avocado, and sprouts on homemade whole-grain bread), tapas, and mains. Even meat eaters relish the hearty chili and burgers of tofu, lentil, or chickpea ("Give Peas a Chance") variety. The vegan desserts are decadent, and there are plenty of gluten-free options in addition to beer, wine, and a house-made sangria. This is a warm and friendly place, comfortable for both children and adults who don't want to compromise on grown-up food and fun.
