Fodor's Expert Review Villas Delfines
Calle Paso Kuka s/n, Isla Holbox, Quintana Roo, 77310, Mexico
This fishermen's lodge consists of 20 pleasant, palapa-topped cabins by the beach. Superior bungalows have ocean views, wood floors (rather than cement), larger balconies, and a few more creature comforts, like hair dryers and safes; garden bungalows are slightly more affordable. All are solar powered and have waterless "eco-friendly" toilets. If you’ve been out fishing, the restaurant will grill your catch; non-anglers can rent a kayak or arrange a bird-watching trip.
PROS
- eco-friendly property
- nice Saturday grill (high season only)
CONS
- 15-minute walk to village's main square
- Wi-Fi in common areas only
- slightly dated rooms
- 15-minute walk to village's main square
