Fodor's Expert Review Restaurante Oscar y Lalo

This wonderful palapa restaurant with a pebble floor and peaceful garden is actually a couple of miles outside Tankah on Carretera 307. The seafood is excellent, although a bit pricey. Lalo's Special (a dish made with local lobster, shrimp, conch, and fish) and the chicken fajitas are standouts. The ceviche made of fresh fish and lobster, and the caracoles (snails) with citrus juice are also exceptional. Many come just for the grilled octopus seasoned with paprika. You're likely to either have this place all to yourself or be lost in a crowd of travelers arriving by tour bus.
