Fodor's Expert Review Jashita
Bahia Punta Soliman, Tulum, Quintana Roo 77780, Mexico See on Map Fodor's Choice
Located just 20 minutes north of Tulum, this eco-friendly, luxurious boutique hotel is one of the best-kept secrets in the Riviera Maya. Its beach is exquisite and secluded. Design is upscale and the service top-notch. All this, in a small 30-room hotel setting where everything feels more personal and authentic.
room
These suites come with a modern and chic style that permeates the whole place with a refreshing elegance. Most rooms include four-poster beds, ample stylish terraces with plunge pool and ocean views. The state-of-the-art Jasmine Penthouse even has its own infinity pool. Outstanding luxury in secluded Soliman Bay.
bathroom
All bathrooms include rain showers with floor-to-ceiling glass doors, bidets and upscale Bio2 toiletries. Some of them include double vanity sink as well. Walls and countertops come in neutral colors, keeping with the overall elegance of the hotel.
lobby
Jashita’s lobby has a Zen-like atmosphere headlined by a majestic Buddha sculpture and accentuated by refined oriental touches. With a series of classy and comfortable sofas along the way, this lobby is much more than just a waiting area.
pool
With two adults-only swimming pools and one pool for children, Jashita has the best of both worlds. One of the pools for adults is a glassed infinity one with extraordinary views of the Caribbean, as it is located on the top floor. The second pool for the grown-ups, and the newest one, is surrounded by classy loungers and lush vegetation, just steps from the beach.
YOU SHOULD KNOW Even when Jashita is kids-friendly, this whole environment doesn’t feel like a place for kids. Everything is very elegant and refined, it makes you think that kids may be happier in a different kind of hotel.
spa
Caoba Spa has been set on a separate building right on the beach, in order to have guests closer to the relaxing properties of the Caribbean breeze. Choose from a ritual, a massage or an after-sun treatment and let this yourself go in this little piece of paradise.
A great idea is to enjoy a ritual with your partner. Each one is different, but they all include shower bath, steam room and Jacuzzi sessions. They will even get you some sparkling wine or organic juice in the process.
gym
Jashita offers no proper gym to its guests, but it does have a Yoga studio located right above their Spa. This privileged location provides the place with stunning ocean views and the necessary calm to achieve total mindfulness. If a place like this doesn’t help, nothing will.
dining
Pandano Restaurant & Grill is a fascinating experience both in gastronomic terms and design ones. Let’s start with the food, an exciting mix of Italian and Mexican flavors. Sophisticated dishes such as the homemade ravioli with lobster, are the norm here. But is the setting of Pandano what takes the culinary experience to a whole different level. A delightful terrace overlooking the ocean, with white curtains and tropical gardens surrounding the place.
drinking
Pandano is also a cocktail bar and the best spot in Jashita to taste an extravagant cocktail at noon or a cosmopolitan wine after dinner. The 1001 rooftop terrace bar also enjoys stunning views of Soliman Bay, with the added plus of having a gorgeous pool by its side.
LOCATION
Getting Around
Jashita Hotel is located close enough to Tulum to enjoy its cool vibe, and far enough to relish calm and tranquility. To visit downtown Tulum you may order a taxi or get into a colectivo (bus). Cancun International Airport is 80 minutes away so you may better book a private transfer directly to the hotel.
Restaurants
Oscar & Lalo (4-minute drive) is one of the oldest restaurants in town situated in a tropical jungle. Great seafood, traditional recipes and beautiful setting. Try their chocolate cake! El Tábano (25-minute drive) will serve you traditional food with some variations that only make it more interesting; remarkable ambiance.
WHY WE LIKE IT
It’s family-friendly, but offers adults-only sections. The level of luxury and sophistication is outstanding for a secluded beach boutique hotel. Also, we love the food at Pandano.
