Strategically located halfway between the famous Quinta Avenida and the gorgeous beach of Playa del Carmen, adults-only boutique hotel La Semilla is a little gem of interior design, where Mexican heritage can be felt at every corner and every piece of furniture seems to have a story to tell. A delightful hotel that offers luxury and style in small doses, but with a lot of sense.

With only nine rooms on the premises, is no wonder that each one has its own well-defined personality. The concept behind their décor could be described as Mexican vintage with a strong Mayan influence. Some rooms include a private terrace overlooking the hotel’s garden, while others enjoy jungle and even ocean views.

A couple of rooms come with the bathroom sinks set directly in the room, but most have them privately hidden behind a heavy but gorgeous wooden door. The space is not huge, but well distributed. All bathrooms have a shower with curtain and some suites include an outdoor shower or tub on the terrace.

lobby

Park your bike outside and enter into a white space of hand-chosen furniture and an eclectic mix of styles. Passing by the front-desk through a narrow hallway, you’ll get to a small but cozy living room where no two pieces of decoration match, but the whole design of the room works perfectly. pool

There is no pool at La Semilla, but they have an outdoor shower to cool off on the rooftop terrace and the Caribbean Sea is also just one block away.

spa

The staff of La Semilla will organize personalized private Spa experiences for you. All you need to do is ask for one.

gym

Bed & Breakfasts don’t usually come with fitness center, but here they’ll lend you a bike to explore downtown Playa and are willing to organize outdoor yoga lessons according to your specific needs and schedule.

The Cocina restaurant serves breakfast daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., in a chic open kitchen concept set in the middle of a beautiful garden where little coffee tables, sofas and chairs of all kind of styles, are scattered here and there in perfect harmony with the natural environment.

Guests of La Semilla enjoy private beach access through a sister hotel. The access fee includes food and beverages, and that’s all the drinking available at this otherwise fantastic hotel.
