If there are secluded hotels which are in the middle of nowhere, El Punto is quite the opposite, finding itself in the middle of everything right in the heart of famous Quinta Avenida. Location and price are its main assets, as it’s only 100 meters away from the beach and just steps from the best nightclubs in Playa del Carmen.

Room
There are only two categories of rooms at this cozy little hotel, Junior Suites and Family Master Suites. Both types enjoy a modern style, with laminate flooring and ample space. The Family Master Suites feature a gorgeous exposed-brick wall. All rooms include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, in-room safe and cable TV.
You Should Know Rooms are not sound-proof and by night this can be quite an issue, as the nearby nightclubs stay open until the early morning hours.
Bathroom
The bathrooms are well-appointed if a bit limited in space. Both shower and toilet enjoy some privacy hidden behind stained glass doors. All bathrooms come with single sink, bathrobes and hairdryer.
Lobby
The lobby at El Punto is a long, narrow corridor with modern décor, a couple of public computers and the front desk. A simple, practical area that opens directly to the Fifth Avenue.
Spa
Although there is no proper Spa on the premises of El Punto, the staff can arrange a massage appointment for you upon request.
Tip You may be better served looking for independent Spa services by yourself, as there are plenty of options in the nearby area.

Getting Around
Hotel El Punto is located only 50 minutes away from the airport and you can contact front-desk before your arrival to arrange individual or shared transportation. You may also use public ADO buses that will leave you at the bus terminal, just a 6-minute walk away from the hotel. The whole tourist and shopping area around the hotel is within walking distance. You can also rent a bike in many rental places around. If you are planning on going beyond the boundaries of the city, use taxis or ask the hotel for other options.
Restaurants
Carboncitos (2-minute walk) is a very popular Mexican Restaurant on Fifth Avenue. So if you are not brave enough to try Mexican spicy specialties in smaller streets, this is your safe option. La Casa del Agua (4-minute walk) is an elegant international eaterie, with different options distributed on 3 floors. Their dishes are tasty and really beautifully served, and their service legendary.
Bars
Wah Wah Beach Bar (5-minute walk) is a bar with cold beer, great cocktail and pizzas loved by the locals. Grab a lounger and spend some time doing nothing. Alive (3-minute walk) is an off the beaten track place with cold beer, great rock noise and wonderful crowd, and it’s pet-friendly, too.
