Fodor's Expert Review J&B Dance Club
People call it "Hota Bay" (it's how you pronounce the letters "j" and "b" in Spanish), and it's the best club in town for salsa. The crowd varies, but tends toward the thirties to forties age group and because J&B is serious about dancing, it feels young at heart. There's usually a band Friday and Saturday nights and DJs the rest of the week. Those with dos patas zurdas (two left feet) can attend salsa lessons Thursday and Friday 8 to 9 pm (50 pesos) or take tango lessons for the same price on Monday at 8 pm. The dance club's cover is about 110 pesos ($8) when there's live music, otherwise about 55 pesos ($4) and free on Monday and Tuesday.
