Fodor's Expert Review Asador Vasco
The Asador Vasco, as its name suggests, specializes in hearty fare from the Spanish Basque region: flavorsome soups and well-cooked meats and fish, all washed down with choice Spanish wines. The locations of the two restaurants are the big selling points: the most convenient is on the second floor of a historic city-center building overlooking the zócalo, where you can watch the frivolities of life passing by below. Another is found at the new Plaza Parque on Calzada Porfirio Díaz in Colonia Reforma, 15 minutes' walk from the center, with the same menu. The second location boasts an even higher altitude, with a beautiful open-air terrace and uninterrupted views of the mountains at sunset.
