Why We Like It

This is the rare B&B that actually does feel like staying with friends, albeit friends with the most charming and palatial home in the best neighborhood.

Fodor's Expert Review

A homey, artsy vibe and central location in La Condesa make this charming little B&B a favorite among leisure travelers. Guests share recommendations and discoveries in the cozy living room area, which is decked out with plush seating, a baby grand piano, and a painting of Frida Kahlo mounted above the working fireplace. The nicely appointed rooms, each with its own tiled bathroom and flat-screen TV, are distributed between the main house, a 1930s-era home that's said to have been continually occupied by artists and writers; a separate three-story building in the back; and a small annex across the street.

You Should Know Children under 8 are not allowed.

Room

Rooms vary from the tiny "Treehouse" with private terrace to the 2-bed/2-bath "Penthouse" with private roof garden. "La Rama" is a house across the street that shares all amenities with the main property, and features 5 independent rooms which can be entirely rented out by groups or families.

Tip The daily happy hour, with a complimentary glass of wine and snacks, is a great way to meet staff and other guests.

Bathroom

Bathrooms are mostly small but stylishly tiled, and typical of Mexican homes.

Lobby

In keeping with the "staying with friends" theme, the "lobby" is more like a foyer. Send them your flight info ahead of time and they will know if you're running late. If reservations allow, they are flexible with early check-ins and late checkouts.

Dining

Breakfast here is exceptional, though it's the only meal they serve. The staff can arrange taco delivery or local recommendations.
