Cool and compact--with a distinctive gray-marble lobby and a bar with a wide-angle view of landing planes--the Hilton feels like a private club, enhanced by an attentive but unobtrusive staff.
The hotel is extremely accommodating to deaf, blind, and physically challenged guests.
room
Rooms are modern and business-friendly, with comfortable ergonomic desks and desk chairs, and plush bedding. You can choose from four different views: airstrip, street, atrium, or \"garden\" (bamboo plants set along a concrete ledge).
bathroom
Robes, luxury bath amenities, and a long marble sink deck give a spa-like feel.
lobby
Lobby features a friendly lobby bar and computer work stations. Staff are generous about holding baggage and adjusting check-out times based on flight schedules.
gym
Basic but modern, and open 24 hours.
drinking
The lobby bar makes very good classic cocktails.
LOCATION
Getting Around
The airport isn't near much, but ride-share cars are plentiful and inexpensive.
Restaurants
Mariscos La Palma (7-minute walk) serves Veracruz-style seafood (try the arroz a la tumbada) in an informal family-friendly space. La Mansion (8-minute walk), in the Camino Real hotel, is a branch of the 60-year-old meat-lovers chain; the "cowboy steak" is a favorite.
WHY WE LIKE IT
One of the two best options if you need to stay at the airport.
