4 Best Nightlife in Mazatlan, Mexico

The Fiesta Mexicana is one of the city's oldest tourist traditions: the kitschy concept of a trip through Mexican history via a whirlwind of music and dance still draws and deserves big audiences for dinner shows Tuesday and Thursday (May through October only), and Saturday from 7 to 10:30 (doors open at 6). The $35 fee covers an all-you-can-eat buffet, open bar, the entertainment, and the chance to dance yourself.

Joe's Oyster Bar has become perhaps Mazatlán's most popular club, although it's really not much more than a palapa and a volleyball court. Locals and tourists dance to pop and hip-hop. Get there early and watch the sunset over a couple of drinks, a plate of shrimp, and yes, some oysters.

Mambocafe in Mazatlán's Gran Plaza mall is modeled after Caribbean-style clubs—it's heavy on the tropical vibe and large, live groups that pump out the best in modern and traditional Latin music. Free salsa lessons happen Thursday through Saturday at 7 pm. There's no cover Monday, and ladies enter free Thursday and Sunday; other times expect to pay around $6. Av. Reforma and Calz.
