Why We Like It

Paradisus enjoys a privileged setting on Playa Bledito, AKA Tequila Cove, a swimmable beach that also offers an array of family-friendly activities, from volleyball to horseback riding. The resort also boasts some of the finest convention and wedding services and facilities in the area, as well as on-site shops and boutiques like Hackett and Quiksilver.

Fodor's Expert Review

Formerly known as Meliá Cabo Real, the newly minted Paradisus Los Cabos – it was rebranded in December 2016 – remains an all-inclusive resort under the Mallorca based Meliá’s management. Given the significant upgrades and renovations made following Hurricane Odile in 2014, however, the new name reflects a step up in class. Stylish accommodations stretch towards the Sea of Cortés on two sides, one family-focused, the other reserved for adults. The adults-only area closest to the beach is reserved for what is called Royal Service, with its own private restaurant and swimming pool (some suites have their own swim-up pool access). There are seven restaurants and seven bars, all covered under the all-inclusive plan except Gastrobar by Martin Berasategui, a Basque chef who has been awarded eight Michelin stars.

Tip The Meliá brand YHI Spa offers signature massages and wellness treatments, and the resort also boasts one of the largest meeting centers in the area, holding up to 1,100.

Room

White tropical style décor, king-sized beds, terrace views, and fully-stocked minibars are standard for all suites, from garden view juniors to oceanfront masters.

Tip Guests in some ground-level Royal Service suites have swim-up pool access to their terrace.

Bathroom

His and hers shower heads are a specialty in Paradisus’ roomy walk-in showers.

Lobby

Set beneath a pyramid-shaped roof with stained-glass accents, Paradisus’ lobby features hip furnishings and accents, including chairs in the shape of human hands.

Pool

Expansive is too tame a descriptor for the massive main pool, with its palapa-topped swim-up bar and palm tree islands. Poolside massage services are an added bonus.

Spa

Named for the Aboriginal goddess of light, YHI Spa offers massages, body and facial treatments, beauty services, and signature rituals like the Baja Sur, which follows a body exfoliation and wrap with a massage and an express pedicure.

Gym

Cardio boosters like treadmills and elliptical machines reign supreme, but the Paradisus gym offers a full range of fitness equipment.

Dining

Gastrobar by Martin Berasategui is the headliner, thanks to its association with the acclaimed Spanish chef. Gabi Beach, however, is the best bet for those seeking an introduction to the region’s acclaimed seafood. Other all-inclusive options include Mexican food at Mole, and Japanese fusion at Bana.

Drinking

Among the seven on-site bars covered by the all-inclusive plan are Coco’s Beach Bar, and the swim-up bar at the main pool.

Restaurants

Those seeking a change from the all-inclusive offerings can walk next door to Hilton, home to excellent restaurants like Vela and El Mesón.

Bars

Magnificent sunset views and signature cocktails are the chief draws at Sunset Point (15-minutes by car on the Carretera Transpeninsular, at Km 6.5).
