A mosaic sign (crafted by co-owner Ricardo Rode) near the entrance hints at the beauty inside this small stylish inn offering a relaxed atmosphere and boutique feel without the heavy cost. Brilliant purple bougainvillea and orange lipstick vines line the patio, which showcases more of Rode's works by the fountain and small pool. Bóveda-style (arched brick) roofs top the rooms, which have terra-cotta tile floors and handmade Mexican furniture. Five of the rooms have kichenettes, three have double beds, and a sundeck on the second floor is great for catching rays. Co-owner Sandra Scandiber dispenses budget travel tips while visiting with guests in the courtyard, and is always ready to lend books from her huge library. Brides on a budget might consider this hotel for a destination wedding, especially since a huge garden area was recently added for weddings and events.
Spacious Junior Suites are perfect choice for extended stays, with kitchenette appliances and separate living and dining areas. All 12 rooms feature televisions, ceiling fans, and air-conditioning.
Los Milagros offers plenty of beach reading options in its small office.
Hand-painted mirrors and shower tiles add a boutique touch to the standard bathroom amenities.
Los Milagros does not have a lobby, at least in the traditional sense. There is a central courtyard area, with a small office where guests can check in, and a few shelves full of books for those in need of beach reading.
The pool may be a little small for swimming laps, but is easily large enough to accommodate the guests in all 12 rooms. The sun deck area above is a comfortable place to read or catch a few rays.
Los Milagros is centrally located, and within easy walking distance of all the major tourist attractions in Cabo San Lucas. Buses are an budget-friendly option for day trips to San José del Cabo, and on-site parking is available for those who’d like to rent a car for more ambitious explorations.
Taquerías abound in the neighborhood, with plenty of carne loaded options at Tacos Guss, El Gran Pastor, and Las Guacamayas, and excellent seafood tacos at Los Claros and La Lorenza. Alcaravea Gourmet (4-blocks away on Calle Zaragoza) is a local’s favorite, beloved for its colorful atmosphere and affordable Mediterranean style cuisine.
Hooliganz Corner Bar across the street is a popular meeting place for Canadian and American expats, with comfortable booth seating, televised sports, and the occasional live music performance. Cabo Wabo Cantina and Giggling Marlin are located less than a block away: the former a tourist mecca founded by Sammy Hagar and his Van Halen bandmates in 1990, the latter an even older late night landmark, known for hanging people upside down on fish scales.
WHY WE LIKE IT
Something of a hidden oasis in the heart of downtown Cabo San Lucas, Los Milagros offers boutique comforts and convenience at extremely competitive rates. A newly added garden makes this a picturesque locale for a small destination wedding.
