Why We Like It
This property is best known for its distinctive lighthouse (hence the name Faro, the Spanish word equivalent), but also offers a great beachfront location in the middle of San José del Cabo’s hotel zone. It has plenty to attract both couples and families, from romantic lighthouse views and pampering spa treatments to an on-site Kids Club with pool, playground, and supervised activities. Babysitting services are also available.
Beachfront, along San José del Cabo's hotel zone, this five-story hotel caters to both business and fun, with four restaurants, three pools, four bars, and massive meeting rooms. Rooms throughout the U-shaped property have white tile floors and hues of blue, with private balconies perched above the pool complex that look out over the ocean. Nightly entertainment takes place from 9–10:30, and Friday is Mexican theme night featuring music, art, and food.

Bathrooms are clean and modern, with large and wall-mounted vanity mirrors, and glassed-in showers. Amenities increase with upgraded rooms, culminating in the Presidential Suite, which boasts both a hydromassage bathtub and a private balcony-set hot tub.

The lobby is rather sprawling, with a large A-frame entryway next to the lighthouse featuring outdoor seating for those arriving and departing. Inside, the main desk may be found to the right, backlit, framed by concierge stations and sleek contemporary décor.

All four pools are heated during the winter seasons (when daytime temperatures dip into the 70s Fahrenheit), including the main pool, which overlooks the Sea of Cortés and is large enough to qualify for lagoon status.
spa
Water is the magical elixir in the Deep Blue Spa, where signature treatments utilize the therapeutic properties of the mineral rich waters and marine flora of the Sea of Cortés. A hydrotherapy circuit adds more relaxing water-based wellness options.
gym
Treadmills and elliptical and cycling machines take up the prime windowfront real estate in the on-site fitness center, which also features benches for free weight workouts.
dining
All-inclusive dining choices include Mexican specialties at Las Jicamas, Italian cuisine at La Gondola, abundant breakfast and lunch fare at Las Olas, and internationally themed buffet dinners at Albatross.

Sky Sports Bar delivers specialty cocktails and spectacular views, particularly at sunset, with a sushi bar located on the lighthouse level below. Stop by the lobby bar, Acuario, for cervezas and a game of pool.

LOCATION
Getting Around
Shuttle service is available, and taxi service is an easy option for short trips to downtown San José del Cabo for shopping and dining. Rental cars, however, are the best choice for more far-reaching regional explorations.
Restaurants
Some of the region’s best known taquerías are a short drive away, including seafood specialist Los Claros (on Blvd. Mijares), Taquería Rossy (Carretera Transpeninsular, Km 33), and La Lupita Tacos & Mezcal (Calle José María Morelos). The latter is an excellent pit stop during seasonal Thursday night Art Walks in the city’s historic Distrito del Arte.
