Fodor's Expert Review Sardinian Smile
Despite the cheesy name (there's an outpost in Sardinia), this cozy spot on busy Avenida Hidalgo is the island's most authentic Italian restaurant, serving handmade pastas like fettuccine with clams or a spicy arrabiata sauce to happy crowds. Pesto linguini, lobster ravioli, and rich tiramisu dusted with cocoa powder make it hard to forget that you're not in Italy. Meat and cheese platters add protein to a carbohydrate-rich menu. Always ask about the daily catch; the snapper baked in wine and olive oil is divine. Though service can be slow, it's worth it when the food arrives; just order a glass of Italian wine and await your feast while listening to live music (8–10 pm).
