Banks and Currency Exchange

San Miguel is dotted with bank offices, and ATMs are abundant—including a few that dispense U.S. dollars; some major hotels and resorts along the northern and southern hotel zones also have ATMs on site. However, it’s best to stick with bank-affiliated machines and withdraw only pesos since independent ones offering U.S. dollars charge exorbitant fees. If you’d prefer to pay by credit card, ask first as not all businesses accept them.
