Fodor's Expert Review La Habichuela
Open since 1977, the much-loved "Green Bean" has an elegant yet cozy indoor dining room plus an outdoor area full of Mayan sculptures and local flora. Seafood lovers can satisfy their cravings by ordering Caribbean lobster tail or giant shrimp prepared 10 different ways. The menu also features chicken, pasta, and grilled kabobs. Finish off your meal with Xtabentun, a Mayan liqueur made with honey and anise. If you prefer to stay in the Hotel Zone, there is a second location (dubbed La Habichuela Sunset) on Boulevard Kukulcán, but the prices there are slightly higher.
