Bus Travel

Virtually every tour operator in Guatemala City, Antigua, and Panajachel can set you up with a minivan shuttle to the beach. Most travel via Antigua. Large Greyhound-style public buses (pullmans) ply the region, too, although many routes require you to change in the hub city of Escuintla.
