Think "small" when contemplating where you'll overnight in this region, both in terms of the number of options—there aren't a lot—and the size. With few exceptions, the typical Verapaces hostelry is a small, family-run place. For that reason, reservations are a good idea any time of the year. Air-conditioning is unheard of up here, but you won't miss it.
