Fodor's Expert Review Azania Bungalows

1½ km (1 mile) southeast of town at Playa Cocles, Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Limón, 70403, Costa Rica

Eleven thatch-roof A-frame bungalows are spread around Azania's ample gardens, and each sleeps four. The first floor contains a queen-size bed, and a ladder leads to the second floor with a pair of single beds. Much-appreciated mosquito netting covers all of them. You'll luxuriate in the semi-open shower in the blue-tile bathrooms. Private decks with hammocks are surrounded by bromeliads, heliconias, and fruit trees that lure birds and butterflies. Meals are served in the hotel's Argentine restaurant next to the free-form pool.
