Fodor's Expert Review Posada del Museo

Painted a pretty shade of yellow, this wooden Victorian-style house dating from 1928 is a great place to stay if you're bound for San José's museums (hence the name)—it's diagonally across the street from the Museo Nacional. Each room is individually decorated, with original tiles, wooden double doors, and artfully painted ceilings. The hallway on the second floor overlooks the two-story lobby from what the friendly owners call their "Romeo and Juliet balcony."
