The closest lodge to the Monteverde reserve (but 6 km [4 miles] from the town center) has enormous rooms, with wood-paneled walls and ceilings, marvelously crafted wood furniture, balconies, and lovely views from most. The woodsy style is appropriate, as the lodge is surrounded by trees and just 1 km (½ mile) from the park entrance. Ground-floor rooms in the main building are close to the restaurant and lobby, and have solariumlike enclosed glass balconies. The four Mountain Suites are a bit of a hike but have better views. The friendly Chilean owners are always around to provide personalized service.
