Fodor's Expert Review French Connection

A young European couple, Marcus and Anna Perigo, have brought modern French cooking to the peninsula. In mid-2009, they moved to a new location on the main road, next to the police station. The new site has outdoor dining under a small palapa, along with a few seats at the martini bar and inside. The menu changes frequently, but you can try first courses such as lobster-and-crab bisque (BZ$19) or sweet potato–and-snapper soup (BZ$18), then a main course of grilled pork chop with wild mushrooms and brandy sauce (BZ$39) or baked grouper with a ragu of chickpeas (BZ$42). The wine list is small and pricey, and beer is not on the menu (though by request Anna will go to a nearby grocery and get you one). Reservations are suggested.
