Bus Travel

Buses are a good form of transport in this region, though the frequent stops on some routes, such as between Çanakkale and Ayvalık, can be frustrating. Most bus companies have branches both in the terminals and in the town centers. Several buses make the trip from Istanbul's Esenler terminal to İznik or Bursa via the Yalova ferry (about four hours). The trip from Istanbul to Çanakkale is about six hours and costs 50 to 60 TL. The trip from Bursa to Çanakkale is five hours and costs about 40 TL. From Çanakkale buses run almost every hour to İzmir, passing Ezine, Ayvacık, Edremit, Ayvalık, and Bergama on the way. The fare is about 35 to 40 TL, depending on your destination.
