Priene, Miletus and Didyma

The three towns of Priene, Miletus, and Didyma make up part of Ancient Ionia, homeland of many of the ancient world’s greatest artistic and scientific minds, and each endowed with haunting ruins. They're all within 40 km (25 miles) of each another, and if you get an early enough start, you can visit them all in one day, either with a car or on a PDM (Priene, Miletus, Didyma) tour with a local agency. If you decide to spend a night in the area, you’ll find the most hotels in and around Didyma, where the modern town extends into the lively seaside resort of Alt?nkum, which has a large foreign population.
