Zermatt is Switzerland's souvenir capital, offering a broad variety of goods, including scarves, watches, knives, logo clothing, and Matterhorn-in-a-box stones. Popular folk crafts and traditional products include large grotesque masks of carved wood, and lidded channes(tankards) in pewter or tin, molded in graduated sizes; they're sold everywhere, even in grocery stores.

You'll see lots of stores offering state-of-the-art sports equipment and apparel, from collapsible grappling hooks for climbers and lightweight hiking boots in brilliant colors to pairs of lightweight, spiked walking sticks for hikers to add a bit of upper-body workout to their climb.
