Fodor's Expert Review Hotel Alpina

Bahnhofstr. 1, Klosters Platz, Graubünden, 7250, Switzerland

Conveniently located across from the train station on one side and the Gotschna cable car on the other, this family-owned and family-run property made up of three buildings with south-facing balconies is rustic yet comfortable. Interiors are delightfully decorated, drawing on the valley's farming heritage—think leather sofas, cowhide chairs, and carved wood throughout the lobby. Spacious guest rooms include chairs upholstered with country plaids and ginghams, and hints of the sweet smell of Arvenholz pine furniture. The cozy lobby and communal library offer plenty of space for relaxation with a cup of Heisse Schoggi (hot chocolate) or an après-hike beer. Two restaurants—the Grischunstübli and the Bündnerstube, both well known in the area—round out the offerings.
