Vieille Ville

Geneva's Old Town (Vieille Ville), a tight cluster of museums, boutiques, historical sites, and sidewalk cafés capped by the cathedral, represents the city's core. The cantonal government's executive, legislative, and judicial branches operate within its walls; the Left Bank radiates out from its slopes.

The Passeport Musées is a little booklet that, when stamped at the door like a passport, allows one free entrance each to the Fondation Baur, Fondation Martin Bodmer, Musée des Suisses dans le Monde, Musée Barbier-Mueller, Musée International de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge, Musée International de la Réforme, and Patek Philippe Museum. Many hotels (and the museums themselves) sell the booklets. They are valid for three months, cost 40 SF, and can be handed off to a friend.
