Fodor's Expert Review Templo de Debod
It’s not every day that you can marvel at a fully reconstructed ancient Egyptian temple from the 4th century BC, but thanks to the Egyptian government, which bequeathed the edifice to the Spanish government in 1968 for its assistance with the construction of the Aswan Dam, it’s free for the public to appreciate. Visit at sunset and watch as the day’s last light radiates off the timeworn stones. The interior of the temple is closed until further notice.
