Fodor's Expert Review Parque Tropical

One of the first hotels to be built in Playa del Inglés, Parque Tropical remains a peaceful oasis of tropical palms, colorful blooms, and cascades. It's built in a colonial style, with typical Canarian balconies and wooden shutters. Most rooms, which are homey and old-fashioned (think floral-patterned duvets), overlook the lush gardens with more than 1,000 plant species as well as numerous tropical fish and a large (unheated) swimming pool. The poolside restaurant offers an à la carte menu for lunch, and there are Sunday paella parties with live entertainment.
