Fodor's Review

At the bottom of Gràcia between the Diagonal and Carrer Còrsega, this often overlooked Moderniste house (not open to the public) built in 1911 is worth stopping by to view the exterior. For a look at the best side of this lower Gràcia Art Nouveau gem, cut down past Casa Fuster at the bottom of Gran de Gràcia, take a left on Bonavista, then a right on Santa Teresa down to Casa Comalat just across Carrer Còrsega. This Salvador Valeri i Pupurull creation is one of Barcelona's most interesting Moderniste houses, with its undulating polychrome ceramic balconies and its Gaudí-on-steroids columned arches on the ground level. Look for the curious wooden galleries, and the turret on the Carrer Corsega side of the building, clad in green ceramic tiles. Don't miss a look into the excellent Bar Mut at Pau Claris 192 just across the street.
