Fodor's Expert Review Palo Alto Market

Poblenou Outdoor/Flea/Green Markets
This old factory complex in the Poblenou district was one of the first to be become a creative space. Nineteen designers have studios here, including the legendary Javier Mariscal. With 19th-century industrial architecture (the "palo alto" refers to a towering chimney) and a verdant garden, it is something of an island in this newly developed district. One weekend a month, the Palo Alto Market invites the public to view this urban oddity with live music, food trucks, and dozens of stalls selling goods. Check their website for dates and get there around 11 am, as queues to get in can often snake around the block.
